چکیده

Dynamically adaptive numerical methods have been developed to efficiently solve differential equations whose solutions are intermittent in both space and time. These methods combine an adjustable time step with a spatial grid that adapts to spatial intermittency at a fixed time. The same time step is used for all spatial locations and all scales: this approach clearly does not fully exploit space–time intermittency. We propose an adaptive wavelet collocation method for solving highly intermittent problems (e.g. turbulence) on a simultaneous space–time computational domain which naturally adapts both the space and time resolution to match the solution. Besides generating a near optimal grid for the full space–time solution, this approach also allows the global time integration error to be controlled. The efficiency and accuracy of the method is demonstrated by applying it to several highly intermittent (1D + t)-dimensional and (2D + t)-dimensional test problems. In particular, we found that the space–time method uses roughly 18 times fewer space–time grid points and is roughly 4 times faster than a dynamically adaptive explicit time marching method, while achieving similar global accuracy. 2005 Elsevier Inc. Existence of solution and solving the integro-differential equations system by the multi-wavelet Petrov-Galerkin method

‎In this paper, we discuss about existence of solution for integro-differential system and then we solve it  by using the Petrov-Galerkin method. In the Petrov-Galerkin method choosing the trial and test space is important, so we use Alpert multi-wavelet as basis functions for these spaces. Orthonormality is one of the properties of Alpert multi-wavelet which helps us to reduce computations in ...

Solving nonlinear space-time fractional differential equations via ansatz method

In this paper, the fractional partial differential equations are defined by modified Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative. With the help of fractional derivative and fractional complex transform, these equations can be converted into the nonlinear ordinary differential equations. By using solitay wave ansatz method, we find exact analytical solutions of the space-time fractional Zakharov Kuz...

An efficient space-time adaptive wavelet Galerkin method for time-periodic parabolic partial differential equations

We introduce a multitree-based adaptive wavelet Galerkin algorithm for space-time discretized linear parabolic partial differential equations, focusing on time-periodic problems. It is shown that the method converges with the best possible rate in linear complexity and can be applied for a wide range of wavelet bases. We discuss the implementational challenges arising from the Petrov-Galerkin n...

On Wavelet-Galerkin Methods for Semilinear Parabolic Equations with Additive Noise

We consider the semilinear stochastic heat equation perturbed by additive noise. After time-discretization by Euler’s method the equation is split into a linear stochastic equation and a non-linear random evolution equation. The linear stochastic equation is discretized in space by a non-adaptive wavelet-Galerkin method. This equation is solved first and its solution is substituted into the non...

Numerical Solution of Caputo-Fabrizio Time Fractional Distributed Order Reaction-diffusion Equation via Quasi Wavelet based Numerical Method

In this paper, we derive a novel numerical method to find out the numerical solution of fractional partial differential equations (PDEs) involving Caputo-Fabrizio (C-F) fractional derivatives. We first find out the approximation formula of C-F derivative of function tk. We approximate the C-F derivative in time with the help of the Legendre spectral method and approximation formula o...
